National Motivation & Inspiration Day© was passed by The United States Congress on 12/18/2001 after the tragic events of 9-11-01. H. Res 308 is the resolution that was passed declaring January 2nd National Motivation & Inspiration Day©.

In having the day passed, Kevin L. McCrudden became the ONLY motivational and leadership speaker to ever have such a day passed by Congress, acknowledging the importance of “motivation” and “inspiration” in our daily lives. In addition, a resolution was passed by New York State and Suffolk County, NY also acknowledging January 2nd as Motivation & Inspiration Day, and January is officially “Motivation & Inspiration Month” in New York State. 

Most of us start a new year with some type of goals to achieve.  Then in a month or less we forget what we had good intentions of achieving and feel like a complete failure.  I know that after going through that kind of defeat over and over again you laugh at the thought of making “New Year’s Resolutions.”

What if your resolution was to get motivated or to get inspiration to do something you have been putting off for a long time???

I think that changing our tune or frame of mind to warm us up to doing something difficult gives us a better chance of achieving difficult goals.  I think about losing weight for example.  We gain weight one pound at a time.  It is when we look at those extra 20, 50, or 100 pounds that we notice them and get overwhelmed.  So, why do we expect those pounds to be gone overnight when we start a diet or exercise program?  They have to come off one or two pounds at a time.
