The Freeman/Lozier Library is always changing to keep up with the latest trends and services to offer you our best. Our More Than Books newsletter has a “Did You Know” section that keeps you informed about the changes that have taken place in the library. Here is the latest news from that newsletter:
The library has removed a significant amount of shelving from the building? Due to the weeding and shifting of several collections, Library staff were able to free up numerous shelves, which have since been dismantled. We are currently using this space for additional comfortable furniture and tables for group and private study. Additionally, we have repurposed our former atlas stand and it now houses our ever-popular puzzle collection. If you have not been inside the Library in some time, now would be the time to come in and check it out.
The Digital Archives has added a new collection devoted entirely to our material concerning McDonald’s?
Called the Thomas Dolly Collection, you can access it here: http://bellevueu library.cdmhost.com/digital/collection/p16250coll14/search. This collection consists primarily of letters written by former Bellevue University student Tom Dolly to Richard McDonald, one of the founders of the McDonald’s restaurant chain. New items are added every month.
Receipts are now given for checked-out material? This upgrade has long been on the wish lists of both staff and students. We hope that this makes it easier for our patrons to keep track of what they are borrowing and when it is due back!
