Whether it is reading a book, sending an email, or giving a presentation, having a firm grasp of the English language is vastly important in today’s world. Even those uninterested in Shakespeare or Strunk and White will inevitably do some reading and writing in their lives. And that is only the bare minimum: English Composition besides reading and writing also involves persuading and responding and perceiving. The English Composition LibGuide is a great way to enhance your grasp of the English language.

The first page welcomes you to the LibGuide and outlines the guide’s features. The second page features an assortment of books on English Composition. Some of these books provide help with writing, like Writing Skills: Success in 20 Minutes a Day. Others assist with citation, like An EasyGuide to APA Style or Cite Right: A Quick Guide to Citation Styles. The next page provides a list of E-books on grammar, writing, and APA style, such as The Concise APA Handbook and Writing Well in the 21st Century: The Five Essentials. The third page is a list of videos, broken up into DVDs that the library owns (like Writing a Great Research Paper) as well as videos that are available through the library’s streaming services. The DVDs mentioned cover different styles of writing, e.g., writing a research paper. The streaming videos also touch on research as well as other writing essentials. The next page includes a long list of helpful databases that the library provides access to, e.g., Academic Search Complete or Credo Reference; almost all of them can be used for research assistance. The sixth page lists several reputable websites that can assist with writing as well as a link to Bellevue University’s Writing Center. The next page includes resources for citation help, while the final page discusses tips for finding articles through the library’s databases as well as other helpful searching methods
