Many of the eBooks from EBSCOhost now have a download capability. They can be checked out for 1-7 days and downloaded to your computer, eReader, or other device.  This is convenient as it eliminates the need to access a book multiple times when using it over the course of several days.
  • Look for books that have the Download (Offline) option.

  • Sign in to your EBSCO account or create one if you do not already have one. Click on Sign In in the navigation bar at the top of the page to login. To set up a new account click on Create a New Account in the top right area of the next page.

  • Select a checkout period of 1-7 days.  (See important note below.)

  • The first time you download a book to a device, you will need to make sure you have the required Adobe® Digital Editions 1.7.1 or higher software. The link to install this free software is provided.

  • Like print books, eBooks can only be checked out by one user at a time.  If the book you need is checked out, you may place a hold on it by entering your email address when prompted. You will then be notified when it is available.

  • EBSCOhost Help provides more detailed information on downloading eBooks
  • If you are using an Apple product, consult the special instructions provided by EBSCOhost Support.

Important!  Only two books may be checked out (downloaded) at a time.  At this time, there is no way to return a book before it is due.  To avoid exceeding your limit before you have found the book you need, and to avoid preventing others from being able to access books before they are due, you may view a book without downloading it by clicking on eBook Full Text. Books will time out after 15 minutes of inactivity and will then be available for other students. Alternately, you may adjust the checkout period to fewer days.
