USING eBooks on EBSCOhost

eBooks on EBSCOhost is just one of the library databases where you will find electronic books. The eBooks in this database are one person users, so if someone else is reading a book you want to read, you will have to wait until they are finished using it.  As with most of the databases, a book will time out after about 15 minutes of inactivity, giving others a chance to read it.  You may access a book as many times as you need to, as long as  no one else is using it.  At this time, these eBooks cannot be downloaded to eReaders or any other device.
You can access the EBSCOhost eBooks through eCatalog, as described previously. Alternately, you can go directly to eBooks on EBSCOhost to find an electronic book On the Database Services page, select eBooks on EBSCOhost, then search by title, author, or subject.  A typical record looks like this:

To read the book, click on eBook full text.  The book will load in the reading pane with the table of contents in the frame to the left of it.  Tools below the reading pane allow you to adjust the size of the pages and to zoom in and out.  You may use the table of contents to navigate to a specific part of the book, or "turn" the pages with the arrows below.  Tools to the right of the reading pane allow you to search for words or phrases within the book, use the dictionary, print, and even cite the book. Tip:  You may create an EBSCOhost account to keep books in a folder to read later.  You may add notes to books in your folder when you are signed in to your account.
