CITATION TOOLS

Why do citations have to be so complicated?  If you have ever looked through the APA  manual, you know just how complicated they are.  The reason is that there are so many different types of sources, especially with the proliferation of electronic sources.  So how can you ever keep it all straight and cite your sources correctly?

Fortunately, the Bellevue University Library has several tools to help you with your citations:
Citing Sources LibGuide, contains examples of the most common citations
Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association
       (REF BF76.7.P83 2010)
MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers  (LB2369.G53 2009)
NoodleTools - a citation composer (see next page)

There are also many websites that can help you cite your sources.
  Here are a few:
American Psychological Association (APA) website
                      APA
Style Help
OWL (Online Writers Lab) - Purdue University
                       APA               MLA
The Writing Center - University of Madison Wisconsin
