What is it?

The Research Assistance Program is our New and Improved Personal Librarian Program.

A member of the reference team will work with you one-on-one
throughout your academic career to answer your questions about the research process.

  • Finding and navigating Databases
  • Finding Research Guides for your area of study
  • Finding articles and/or journals
  • Searching for books, videos, and e-books
  • Keeping you informed about new resources, services, as well as developments
    within the library

Who is the Reference team?

Chris for RAP
Chris Armstrong – Public Services Librarian – Head of the Reference Team

Member of the Reference Team since 2002.

“I am here to assist you in your research needs. I can help you develop a strategy for locating the right information. My expertise lies in the medical field which includes healthcare or nursing.”

Hours: Monday & Wednesday 7:30am-4:30pm(CST); Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday 8am-5pm(CST)

Lorraine for RAP
Lorraine Patrick – Reference/Instruction Librarian

Member of the Reference Team since 2003.

“I can provide you with reference and instructional library services. I also conduct online library instructions and information sessions on a variety of topics.”

Hours: Sunday 10am-7pm(CST); Monday – Thursday 9am-6pm(CST)

Matt for RAP
Matt Colbert – Reference/Instruction Librarian

Member of the Reference Team since 2014.

“If you have any questions about the library, whether it is databases, LibGuides or tutorials, feel free to contact me. I conduct library instructions online and face-to-face.”

Hours: Monday – Friday 1:30-10:30pm(CST)


Sarah Alston – Reference Support Specialist

“I offer reference assistance and can help you narrow down search terms to find relevant resources. I am happy to help folks connect with reliable, current data.”

Hours: Tuesday & Friday 7:30am – 4:30pm (CST); Wednesday & Thursday 12:30pm – 9:30pm (CST); Saturday 8am – 5pm (CST)


Tyler Nordstrom – Reference Support Specialist
